It was foolish of me to assume that the O starts at Blackfriars (as the L starts at Waterloo and the S at London Bridge?).
It is, of course, possible to start the O anywhere, and so I began it in Clerkenwell. Remember this: Start Anywhere!
Beware! Perhaps the largest and most confusing Obstacle on this BlakeWalk is the Barbican. One has to chart one’s course carefully and not always follow the paths that are suggested.
I am Intrigued by Collections of Abandoned Belongings. They seem to have been ‘arranged’ and often suggest the shape of a Portal. Or is it that these things are always left in Recesses and by Doorways?
Throughout the Journey is a predominance of Black made bearable by occasional sproutings of bright Vegetation, strips of walled and floored Colour, and arrangements of Municipal Water.
Deep howls and grunts of building machinery assualt my ears, the piercing glaze of security alarms. And people, people – People! – everywhere.
Feelings of Imprisonment, being ‘Gated’ and Separation.
