This Sunday (23rd May 2010) I'm joining a walk devised by gonzogeographer Gordon Joly on a route partly inspired by the fact that Arnold Circus is celebrating its 100th birthday.(There's going to be a brass band at 3pm! Huzzah!)
Here is a picture of me and Gordon with splacist Paul Conneally at Arnold Circus where I was introducing them to the subtle pleasures of the now semi-dormant #golfonthemoon project:
Gordon is calling Sunday's walk 'the Gonzo Trail Number One', but for me it is effectivey hole 2 of the moongolf practice course I am over time designing here on earth in preparation for my ultimate mission (although we seem to be teeing off from a longer 'gentlemens' tee this time).
It's clear that budding astronauts do have to prepare with a lot of simulations here on earth before going into space for real - take this guy for instance - and I am no different. So anything we can do to make this exercise/expedition more 'moon-like' would be greatly appreciated - all suggestions/contributions welcome!
In fact feel free to join us on Sunday. I will be documenting the journey in much the same way as I have for recent Kidmapper and BlakeWalk adventures - except this time I will have my spacesuit on and be carrying a niblick.
See you there? (Pudding Mill DLR station - 12 noon, Sunday May 23rd, 2010)
