My first Oldton picture
Attached is the only picture of Oldton, my childhood town, that I have found so far. It is the only evidence I have that Oldton ever existed, that my childhood existed, that my family ever existed as a family.
Anything you can tell me about this photo will be of use: consider the green, the trees, the street furniture, the architecture, the cars...

Was it used as a pilot area for road schemes? The yellow lines look crisp as anything, like they've been painted just yesterday. Do you remember the smell of tarmac and the shouts of workmen with their FitzNick yellow coats?

I refer you to the six of spades page on the main site. When the brush factory closed, a lot of people did get jobs working on the roads...
