The Darkness

By the way I made a search of OLDTON on Google this morning and a page came up as a link to the very popular rock band 'The Darkness' who it transpires come from around Lowestoft.

At first I couldn't see the link to Oulton/Oldton on the page - it's a message board - so i read right through and started to find things...

Firstly a reference to a 'good chipshop' in Oulton (maybe we should go and get some fish and chips one day)... Then an actual reference to 'OLdton' - it appears twice for some reason... Then a reference to Oulton Broad and sailing on it.... the same place as in refered to in the journal you found....

Even more of a coincidence is that 'The Darkness' have an album called 'Permission to Land' and that nearly all their videos so far have featured Spaceships or other UFO manifestations such as bright lights zooming across the landscape...

All that's best,

I'm telling you now, Lowestoft is the new Seattle.

That's from the site you found, Paul. Nice one. Seattle of course is where Microsoft is based and is pretty much the heart of the beast when it comes to the 'wired' revolution of the 1990s. (cf. 'Microserfs' by Douglas Coupland). Will Oldton prove to be the breeding ground for a new wired revolution ?! ;-)
