Something i left behind
When i was about 18 and a student i went into a phonebox and called my mum - i had with me 3 LP records - 'Here Come the Warm Jets' by Brian Eno, 'The Faust Tapes' by Faust and 'Brain Games' by Mott the Hoople - at least I think it was called 'Brain Games' or maybe it was 'Brain Capers' - that sounds more like it. Anyway I spoke to mum and then went to the pub. Half-way through my first pint I realised that I had left the LPs in the phonebox - went back but they were gone. I wonder who got them - I hope that they still enjoy them. I understand that it's becoming the done thing to deliberaltly leave books in places where other people will find them and maybe take them away read them - i think that this is a good idea and am going to start doing it - not all my books - but i have got too many that are piled up never read and will be never read by me again - this said i still wish i'd got those LPs - if anyone did find them (must have been back in 1989) then please send them on to me. Perhaps the same thing that took Oldton took my LPs... maybe someone is playing my 'The Faust Tapes' in Oldton right now.
