a missing airfield?

023oldton

Dear Tim

I read the articles you found about alien sightings and thought it was funny that people from outer space would worry about finding a flat place to land. I grew up in a very flat part of the work (see photos), but I'm afraid I didn't spot any UFOs. Plenty *identified* flying objects though, since flat parts of Britain tended to attract the RAF during WW2.

In fact you might be interested in the web site http://www.controltowers.co.uk that gives information about all the disappeared and derelict airfields across the UK. Couldn't spot an Oldton, but there is an Oulton - control tower demolished not that long ago in 1999.

Good luck with your search
