GOODBYE

The way I said 'Goodbye' to you was to have a bonfire, a pyre, a burning of all the things I never had the chance to say when you were around. I never said them because they were negative things, hurtful things, things you would not have recognised as belonging to you, but ways you made me feel about you and myself too. So I built a fire in the garden and I decided that as I threw on bits of gash wood and old boxes I would be consigning all my negative thoughts of you to the flames. But when the fire was lit and all ready, there was nothing for me to feed to the flames. I was already at peace.
