I know I said I'd leave you to read Chapter 25 on your own and enjoy a short summer recess, but I had to say a few thank-yous to people following the trail. First and foremost I have to say a BIG thank-you to Jo for his amazing portrait of Alan Breck:
Stupendous, no? And *nearly* as good as my own new look, inspired by @LIS4G33's comment about my possible aspirations towards becoming a Victorian gentleman (of sorts). I feel strongly that the 'Rourke's Drift redcoat' look is on the way back in, but you should watch the video to decide.
I must also thank my mum for a lovely poem/song that I will read out when I get back to Rob Roy country:
O to mount again where erst I haunted;
Where the old red hills are bird-enchanted,
And the low green meadows
Bright with sward;
And when even dies, the million-tinted,
And the night has come, and planets glinted,
Lo,the valley hollow
Lamp-bestarr'd!
O to dream, O to awake and wander
There, and with delight to take and render,
Through the trance of silence,
Quet breath!
Lo! for there, among the flowers and grasses,
Only the mightier movement sounds and passes;
Only winds and rivers'
Life and death.
Take care til the 20th!
