Meet Paul, a crazy but rather lovely man I met at my London club:
Paul is obviously an expert storyteller. We were accidentally sharing a table one lunchtime and he started telling me about his tunnel: a rather big one that he ‘inherited’ from his great grandfather. And when I say big, I mean a tunnel that stretches most of the way between America and the UK.
Yes, I do believe the tunnel story, in fact there my be many tunnels and many people like Paul pursuing dreams through them.
But I do worry about the Telectroscope. IF Paul does manage to build it, when he looks through it there will be nothing to see because it will be dark in America. If he builds it the other way round then it will be dark here. There are only a very few dates in the calender when the time difference combines suitably with the brightness of daylight for the Telectroscope to work across the Atlantic. Why didn't he pick the English Channel? or has someone done that already....?

There is a fair amount of overlap between daylight in New York and daylight in London. Is it 5 hours difference? Also, there could be torches or candles. It could be quite romantic...
