Love the East Anglian alien theory. Fantastic. Attack of the giant biscuits:
"in 1995, an object which looked like a biscuit with two bites out of it was filmed above Mile Cross, Norwich. "
Question: how do so many people get lost in a flat landscape with nowhere to hide? Why should people feel the urge to run away from flat landscapes as opposed to hilly ones? And why should aliens be so interested in humans from Suffolk? Is there some specific genetic research going on here?
Actually I'm starting to think about parasites. I watched a nature programme once where it was said that if aliens looked down on Earth and tried to work out which kind of organism was truly in charge of the world, they would think it was the parasites, since they not only feed off overyone/thing else without giving anything back - but they also have the ability to modify the behaviour of other organisms in order to suit the lifecycle of the parasite.
For example, there is one type of parasite that affects fresh water fish. By embedding itself in the fish's brain the parasite causes the fish to make an involuntary rolling & flipping movement every minute or so. This means that the fish flashes its silvery stomach for all to see, and makes it much more likely that the fish wil be noticed and eaten by a passing bird. The parasite then plants eggs inside the bird, the bird moves onto another part of the river, shits the eggs into the water, ready to infect another fish.
Could it be that a parasite is modifying the behaviour of the people of Oldton. Could it be that the aliens have noticed this already and have been harvesting the infected humans in order to communicate with the parasite?
Anyone out there know of any parasites that really do have the power to modify human behaviour?
I know of plenty of symbiotic relationships between creatures, the ant and the mind controling fungus for instance www.metacafe.com/watch/331826/ant_fungus/
